(Ottawa) — On November 29, 2016, the Ottawa Police Service responded to a disturbance call in the 100 block of Henderson Avenue. Upon arrival, the tenant requested several individuals be removed from his unit. While police were engaged with removing three females they became combative and assaulted one officer, causing her serious injury. Other officers responded to assist and the three females were taken into custody.
Further investigation by responding officers revealed there were illegal firearms and drugs inside the unit. The Central Criminal Investigations Unit, along with the Guns and Gangs Unit, conducted a joint investigation and laid the following charges against the involved persons:
CHARGED:
Two female young offenders are charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
Further charged:
Caylie THOMAS (18 years old), of no fixed address, with one count of aggravated assault on a police officer
Paul FISHER (18 years old), of Ottawa, was charged with several firearms and drug-related offences.
Large quantities of cocaine and psilocybin were seized, as well as a small number of MDMA pills. One rifle and one shotgun, along with ammunition for both, were also located inside the residence.
