Suspect sought in retail robberies

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, March 3, 2017             1:35 pm.    

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating the recent robberies of two convenience stores and is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect responsible.

On January 12, 2017, at approximately 12:35 am, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 1300 block of Richmond Rd. The suspect demanded money and fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries.  

On the same date, at 2:40 am, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store situated along the 0-100 block of Tartan Dr. The suspect indicated it was a robbery and demanded money.  The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries.  

The suspect is described as male, with a dark complexion, 25-30 years, medium height and build (video and images attached).   

 

As a result of the investigation that has followed, investigators placed the suspect at an apartment building on Regina St., approximately 35 minutes before the first robbery.
