(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service Human Trafficking Unit has charged an Ottawa man with several Human trafficking related charges following an investigation.
On May 9th Ottawa Police attended a local hotel where officers spoke with a 15 year old female victim of sexual assault. A male was arrested on site by officers.
The Human Trafficking Unit took over the investigation.
Today, Arnold KASSONGO, 20 years old of Ottawa was charged with:
- Trafficking in a person by exercising control 279.01 CCC
- Financial/Material benefit from trafficking a person under 18 years 279.02 CCC
- Advertising another person’s sexual services 286.4 CCC
- Sexual Assault 271 CCC X2
- Print/Publish/Possess to publish child pornography 163.1(2) CCC
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
The Human Trafficking Unit believes there may be more victims. The police investigation continues.
