Suspects sought in downtown swarming

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday June 7, 2017  10:25 am

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent swarming and is seeking the public's assistance to identify the female suspects responsible.

On May 20, 2017, at approximately 2:15 pm, a female victim was approached by two female suspects along the 0-100 block of George Street. The two suspects began harassing the victim and following her. One of the suspects then grabbed the victim's purse and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the contents of the purse spilled onto the ground and the suspects then grabbed the victim's phone and fled. There were no injuries.

The suspects are described as follows (images attached):

#1-black female, approximately 25 years, approximately 5'10"(178 cm), slim, long curly hair, wearing a tube-top and shorts

#2-black female, shorter, had longer hair with red colouring.
