(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating a shooting incident from Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2:25 am, in the area of Woodroffe Avenue and Navaho Drive.
Officers attended the area after receiving numerous 911 calls about gunshots. A scene was established indicating that gunfire had been exchanged.
A short time later, a 25-year-old male victim attended a local Ottawa Hospital suffering from non life-threatening injuries relating to gunshot wounds.
The Guns and Gangs Unit continues to investigate.
Investigators are looking for the whereabouts of Joseph MADORE, 25, of Ottawa (view picture.) MADORE is facing charges of:
- Discharge firearm being reckless as to the life or safety of another person
- Use / Handle / Store a firearm, etc., carelessly
- Point a firearm
- Possession of a weapon, etc./ dangerous to public peace
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate
- Occupy motor vehicle with a firearm, etc.
- Possession of a loaded regulated firearm
- Possession of a firearm, etc., while prohibited
Investigators are also trying to locate a crime vehicle involved in the incident, 2009 Grey Acura TL, license plate CBYE918 Ontario (view picture.)
PLEASE note that Joseph MADORE is considered armed and dangerous.
