(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Central Criminal Investigations Unit is investigating a stabbing that took place at a local Ottawa shelter. Police and Paramedics responded to a call for service in the evening of Saturday, November 4th, regarding a male who had sustained several stab wounds. Once on-scene, police arrested a lone suspect, while Paramedics transported the victim to hospital, where he is being treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators have since charged Ali DAKHIL (49 years old) of Ottawa with the following offences:
CC. 239(1) Attempted Murder
CC. 268 Aggravated Assault
CC. 267(a) Assault with a weapon
CC. 88(1) Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
Mr. DAKHIL appeared in court by video this morning and was remanded until tomorrow (Monday) for another appearance.
