(Ottawa) – On today's date members of the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) executed two unrelated search warrants in the Ottawa area.
The first search warrant stemmed from late July 2017 when the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) forwarded to the OPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit a report it had received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipLine. This report indicated that an IP address in the Ottawa area was noted to have uploaded child pornography.
George PAQUETTE, 69 years old, of Ottawa, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography, contrary to s. 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.
The second search warrant remains under investigation.
PAQUETTE will appear at show cause court on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017.
