(Ottawa)—On Friday February 2nd, 2018 the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Castle Hill Crescent. As a result of the investigation, officers recovered a loaded handgun with ammunition, a prohibited device, marihuana and Canadian currency.
Seized items included:
- 9 mm Smith and Wesson pistol
- High capacity magazine
- ammunition
- marihuana
- $650 Canadian currency
Two people have been charged and will appear in court on Saturday February 3rd, 2018.
Mohamed ATEF, 20 years old of Ottawa has been charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I CDSA X2
- Possession of Schedule II CDSA X1
- Possession of Prohibited Device 91(2) CC
- Careless storage 86(1) CC
- Possession of a weapon 88(1) CC
- Unauthorized possession of a Firearm 91(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm Know Its Possession is Unauthorized 92(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm , Prohibited or Restricted Weapon obtained by crime 96(2) CC
- Possession of a Prohib/Restricted Firearm with ammunition 95(2) CC
- Breach of Probation CC 733.1 X 2
- Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Karoline KAISS, 22 years old from Gatineau has been charge with:
- Possession of Schedule I CDSA X2
- Possession of Schedule II CDSA X1
- Possession of Prohibited Device 91(2) CC
- Careless storage 86(1) CC
- Possession of a weapon 88(1) CC
- Unauthorized possession of a Firearm 91(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm Know Its Possession is Unauthorized 92(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited or Restricted Weapon obtained by crime 96(2) CC
- Possession of a Prohib/Restricted Firearm with ammunition 95(2) CC
