Expect delays and traffic disruptions in the Downtown area this Tuesday

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Monday, April 23, 2018                      2:07pm 

(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service wishes to advise Ottawa residents that traffic disruptions are expected in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in the Downtown area.   

There will be a demonstration on Parliament Hill in the afternoon and participants will be marching starting at approximately 1:00pm to MacDonald Gardens Park located at 99 Cobourg Street. 

Ottawa Police will be doing rolling road closures along the march route. Streets affected during the march will be Wellington Street, Rideau Street and Cobourg Street. 

The following road closures will be in effect between 10:00am to 4:30pm:  

  • Wurtemburg Street will be closed between Rideau and Heney;
  • Heney Street will be closed between Wurtemburg and Cobourg. 

Is it expected that the area of the MacDonald Gardens Park will be impacted from about 2:00pm to 4:30pm. NO PARKING will be posted on residential streets immediately around MacDonald Gardens Park, all day Tuesday. 

Commuters are asked to avoid the area or take an alternate route whenever possible. 

Demonstrators are reminded that there is relevant information available on our website.
