(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating the robbery of a convenience store and is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.
On October 15, 2015, at approximately 7:55 pm, a lone male suspect entered a convenience store along the 1100 block of Wellington Avenue near Parkdale. The suspect, armed with a metal bar, made a demand for cash. When the suspect was unable to obtain any cash, he struck the victim with the bar and then fled the premises. Nothing was taken. The victim sustained a laceration that required stitches.
The suspect is described as a non-white male, with a light complexion, 30-35 years, approximately 6'0" (183 cm) tall. He had a white cloth or similar over the lower part of his face, and at the time, wore a black down filled winter jacket with a fur lined hood, black pants and running shoes (image attached.)
