(Ottawa) – Ottawa Police, OC Transpo Security, City By-law and community partners will be conducting education and enforcement initiatives this weekend to ensure a safe and law-abiding return to campus for students and residents.
Efforts will include an increased police presence around campuses across the City, education visits by volunteers and City partners, and enforcement.
“We want neighbourhoods to be safe and enjoyable for everyone,” said Ottawa Police Frontline Inspector Heather Lachine, “so we will be focusing on neighbourhoods around campuses to ensure by-laws are being respected.”
Officers will also be on the lookout for Liquor Licence Act and criminal offences. The joint enforcement campaign continues all weekend.
