FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 26, 2018 2:25 pm
(Ottawa) – Ottawa Police, OC Transpo Security, City By-law and community partners will be conducting enforcement and education initiatives this weekend to ensure safe and law-abiding celebrations surrounding the annual Panda Game.
We ask that everyone enjoy the Panda Game celebration but remember that the Liquor licence Act, Trespass to Property Act and Criminal Code still apply and will be enforced.
“We will be focusing on nearby neighbourhoods to ensure by-laws are being respected.” said Ottawa Police Sergeant Fernando Vieira, “We want neighbourhoods to be safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
There will be an increased police presence in downtown neighbourhoods, including Sandy Hill, the Glebe and campuses across the City. Officers will be on the lookout for violations such as open liquor, intoxication in a public place, underage drinking, mischief to property and causing disturbance offences.
