(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service West Investigations Section is currently investigating a reported incident regarding gunshots fired in the Seyton Drive at Hamil Court area.
On Sunday the 21st of January 2018 at approximately 3:30 a.m, West Division front line officers from the Ottawa Police Service responded to gunshots being heard in the area of Seyton Drive and Hamil Court. Witnesses reported the shots originated, from a moving vehicle and were directed towards the occupants of a second vehicle. When officers arrived they found shell casings and projectiles, however the involved vehicles fled the scene. Police searched the area, and confirmed there were no injured persons. No persons are in custody and the investigation is continuing.
The shooting appears to be targeted. The Forensic Unit has completed its examination of the scene. That portion of the roadway is now open for public use. There are no safety concerns for the public at this time.
