Three men arrested after shots fired

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Sunday, September 2, 2018    7:25 p.m.

(Ottawa) - Three men were arrested after shots were fired in the south end of the city early Saturday morning (September 1st).   At about 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, officers  responded to a call of shots fired from a vehicle in the area of Bank St. and Hunt Club Rd.

The suspect vehicle was seen leaving the area and officers engaged in a vehicle pursuit in the south end that included OPS RIDE officers who were nearby.

The subject vehicle was located abandoned on a side street. A K9 track was initiated and three men were located and arrested nearby by officers.

There have been no reports of injuries or victims from the shots fired at this time.

Noah HOPE, 23, Abdul HAJI RAGAB, 20, and Pranavan PARAPARAN, 24, of Ottawa, have all been charged with multiple firearms related offences including Possess Loaded Firearm. In addition, PARAPARAN was charged with Failing to Stop for Police and Possess Firearm while Prohibited.  HAJI RAGAB was also charged with Discharge Firearm with Intent.

The investigation continues.
