(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Collision Investigation Section is still seeking public assistance regarding a 2013 fatal hit and run on Frank Kenny Road on August 11, that took the life of 30 year old Michael Morlang.
Michael’s family – Brian Visneskie and Kathryn Morlang – will be hosting an awareness event on Monday, August 10, 2015 starting at 10:00am at the site of the collision (north of Russell Road) and Ottawa Police will participate.
“We continue to investigate this collision,” said Sgt. Wally McIlquham, of the Ottawa Police Traffic Collisions Investigation Unit. “We need the public’s help to solve this case and bring closure to the family.”
Investigators believe the vehicle involved was a GM product with dark red/burgundy paint used between the years of 1997-1998 and 2003-2010. The vehicle might have been repaired by a local garage or body shop since the hit and run.

New information provides the possibility that the involved vehicle is a GM product with dark red/burgundy paint used between the years of 1997-1998 and 2003-2010. It is also possible that since the date of the hit and run, the vehicle might have been repaired by a garage or body shop.

Ottawa Police still seeking public assistance regarding fatal collision on August 11, 2013
(Ottawa) —The Ottawa Police Collision Section is still investigating the fatal collision that occurred on Frank Kenny Rd in Navan on August 11, 2013.
Between 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., a 30-year-old man was struck on Frank Kenny Rd between Russell Rd and Colonial Rd. The vehicle involved did not remain at the scene of the collision. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have received tips and pieced together the victim’s actions leading up to the collision. Now the investigation is focused on the vehicle and the driver’s actions.
“There are several possibilities that we are still investigating, which include that the involved driver may be unaware that a person was struck,” said lead investigator Cst. Lianne McAughey.
The collision scene suggests that the vehicle involved may have sustained some damage.
“It’s important that we solve this case and bring closure to the victim’s family,” said Cst. McAughey.
Police are asking for anyone who was driving or has knowledge of anyone who was driving on Frank Kenny Road around the time of the collision is asked to call Det. Fatal collision involving a Pedestrian
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Collision Investigation Unit is currently investigating a motor vehicle and pedestrian collision that claimed the life of a 30 year old male. The vehicle did not remain at the scene of the collision.
The collision occurred between the hours of 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Frank Kenny Rd north of Russell Rd. The north and southbound lanes of Frank Kenny Rd between Russell Rd and McFadden Rd were closed due to the investigation and were reopened at 12:30 p.m.
The identity of the victim is NOT to be released at this time.
