(Ottawa) –On Sunday morning, at 1:00am, a 43 year old male victim was followed by three males while walking through the parking lot of the 2200 block of Riverside Drive after he had taken money out of a bank machine. The victim was swarmed by the three males, brandished a knife, and then pepper sprayed him. All three suspects fled the area after a struggle ensued and taking his backpack.
Frontline officers attended the location, and successfully tracked the suspects and arrested them.
Connor O’CALLAGHAN, 18 years old of Ottawa is charged with:
- Armed robbery x2
- Possession of a weapon for committing an offence x3
- Administer noxious thing with intent x1
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance x1
- Breach of Probation x2
- Breach of Recognizance x4
Jefrey SANTOS RIVERA, 18 years old of Ottawa is charged with:
- Armed robbery x2
- Possession of a weapon for committing an offence x3
- Administer noxious thing with intent x1
17 year old male, a young offender, is charged with:
- Armed robbery x2
- Possession of a weapon for committing an offence x3
- Administer noxious thing with intent x1
All three suspects attended show cause court on Sunday. O’CALLAGHAN and SANTOS RIVERA will be in video remand on December 18, 2018. The 17 year old young offender will be in video remand on January 8, 2019.
