(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit has charged a male following a carjacking and robbery that took place on January 9, 2019 around 6:10pm on Marquette Avenue and Beechwood Avenue.
The suspect entered a taxi and directed the taxi to Marquette Avenue. Upon arrival, the suspect threatened the driver with a knife, had him exit the driver’s seat and then drove off with the taxi. The vehicle was recovered a short while later.
Camil DARWICH, 51 years old of Ottawa has been charged with:
- Robbery x2
- Possession of Weapons Dangerous
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
