(Ottawa)—On Sunday, December 30th 2018, around 1:09am Ottawa Police Frontline Officers attempted to pull over a vehicle in the area of Cote Street and Richelieu Avenue in Ottawa. As officers activated their emergency lights the vehicle fled and lost control a short distance away and struck a home on Jean Talon Street which was unoccupied. The male driver was arrested and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of this incident the Province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was contacted and has invoked their mandate and is en route to the scene.
As the Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate the Ottawa Police Service will not have any further comment on this matter.
