(Ottawa)—In mid January 2019, the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) forwarded the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) reports they had received from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipLine.
These reports identified an IP address resolving to the Ottawa area as being used to upload images and videos of prepubescent child pornography. A production order was served on the Internet Service Provider which confirmed the address of the criminal activities.
Today, the ICE Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Rockcliffe-Manor Park area.
Danyiel WALKER, 41 years old, of Ottawa was charged with:
- 4 x Possession of child pornography s.163.1 (4) of the Criminal Code
- 3 x Access child pornography s. 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code
- 3 x Distribution child pornography s. 163.1 (3) of the Criminal Code
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday January 31, 2019.
This is an ongoing investigation and ICE investigators are concerned that there are victims in the Ottawa area. Additional charges are expected to be laid.
