(Ottawa) — In early December 2018, a concerned member of the public contacted the Ottawa Police Service to report a male using the handle of "kjoly4" on a mobile application to be involved with the offence of luring a child under the age of 18 years old.
Several communications were exchanged where the man engaged in conversations requesting the child send images of child pornography.
Today, the Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) arrested the male in the Centretown area of Ottawa.
Kevin JOLY, 31 years old, of Ottawa was charged with:
* 1 x luring a child under 18 s. 172.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, February 28, 2019.
This is an ongoing investigation and ICE investigators are concerned there may be additional victims. Further charges are expected to be laid.
