(Ottawa) – On Friday May 312019 a member of the public reported to the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) staff that a male was apparently viewing child pornography. At the time of police arrival, the male had left the scene.
On Tuesday June 4 2019 the same male was observed at the OPL again viewing apparent child pornography. Police were able to locate the male and confirm that the images being viewed met the Criminal Code definition of child pornography.
A 77 year old male, of Ottawa, is charged with accessing child pornography contrary to s. 163.1(4.1) of the Criminal Code.
He will appear at show cause court on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.
