Ottawa man charge with multiple sexual offences

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, June 12, 2019                     8:07am

 (Ottawa) –Today, the Ottawa Police Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit has charged an Ottawa man with 1 count of Sexual Assault, 1 count of Indecent Act, 2 counts of Criminal Harassment and 4 counts of Mischief. 

An investigation was launched by police on May 28th, 2019 after several female victims came forward individually to Ottawa Police reporting that they had been watched and approached by a male while walking in public areas. 

In one of the incidents the male put his arm around a girl who is under the age of 16 and attempted to kiss her. This occurred in the 2000 block of Ogilvie Rd on May 27, 2019. On May 28, 2019, the same suspect approached teenaged females walking alone on two separate occasions.  This occurred in the Rockcliffe Park area.  The male told one of the females that he was a taxi and offered her a ride.  He also told the females that he worked for a modelling agency.  

The male is described as a Middle Eastern male with an Arabic accent, dark hair and a full beard. He was driving a white Toyota SUV. 

Salim BARDAKJI, 39 year old male, has been identified by Ottawa Police after another incident where he was exposing himself in a public park in Orleans on June 7, 2019.   

 He is to appear in show cause court this morning. 

Investigators believe that there may be other victims and are asking them to contact police.
