(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit has charged a man following a carjacking on Sunday, June 9, at 9:08 am in the 100 block of Charlotte Street.
That day, a male suspect approached an elderly victim and forcefully pulled the victim from the vehicle. The suspect then drove off in the vehicle.
The victim promptly reported the incident to Police and investigators sent out a description of the suspect and the stolen vehicle to all frontline officers, a short time after.
Later that day, Bikes and Beats officers recognized the vehicle from the description. The vehicle was stopped and the suspect was arrested without incident.
Mahamoud ABDILLAHI, 23 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence
- Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
ABDILLAHI appeared in court Monday, June 10, 2019.
