(Ottawa)—Ottawa Police Frontline officers responded to a disturbance call at the intersection of Woodroffe Avenue and Navaho Drive on Sunday, July 14 at 8:23pm.
Officers located an 18 year old male with non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital by Ottawa Paramedic Service.
Two teenage males were arrested at the scene. The main suspect was assaultive during the arrest and the officers successfully deployed a CEW (conducted energy weapon) to gain control of the subject.
As a result of the investigation by West Criminal Investigations, a 17 year old male has been charged with:
- Cause a Disturbance by fighting
- Assault/intent to resist or prevent arrest
- Obstruct/resist a peace officer
The charged male is scheduled to appear in court in August. The other male suspect was released without charges.
