(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has charged John AOKAUT, 29 years old of Ottawa with two counts of Robbery and one count of Theft under.
On November 16, 2019, a male suspect entered a business in the 200 block of Elgin Street, concealed items on his person, and left without paying.
Later the same day, he returned to the same location and repeated the same crime. When confronted by staff employee, the suspect punched the employee in the face. A second employee intervened and was also assaulted. The suspect then fled the area with more stolen goods.
John AOKAUT is charged with:
- Robbery x2
- Theft under $5000
- Shoplifting x7
- Breach of Probation
He is facing numerous charges that are from various commercial businesses throughout the city.
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
