Public assistance sought to identify bike theft suspect

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, July 3, 2020      2:00pm  

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Break and Enter Unit is requesting the public’s assistance to identify a male suspect in relation to a series of bike theft reported in the Downtown core and Vanier area in June. 

In one of these instances, on June 14th at approximately 5pm, a male suspect entered a parking garage located on the 1 to 100 block of Durham Private and stole a bicycle after cutting the lock securing it.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 20’s, 5’10” (178cm), medium build, and appeared unshaven. He was wearing a black jacket with red patches, a black shirt with a white writing at the front, dark cargo pants, black gloves and a red hat. He was carrying a black backpack and had a headlamp on his head (see photos).
