Suspect charged in multiple commercial break and enters in Nepean

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, September 30, 2020           10:45am

(Ottawa) — Ottawa Police Frontline officers responded to consecutive commercial alarm calls in the 1000 block of Merivale Road last night between 11:48pm and 1:09am.

Three businesses had been the target of smash and grab style commercial break and enters.

In reviewing the video surveillance cameras on location and interviewing witnesses, Officers were able to obtain a physical description of the Suspect.  This description was conveyed to patrolling Officers who were able to locate and arrest him nearby without incident.

The Ottawa Police Break and Enter Unit has charged Andrew SICARD, 24 years old of Ottawa with:

  • Breaking and entering to commit theft x2
  • Breaking and entering with intent x1
  • Mischief under $5000 x3
  • Failure to comply with probation x2

SICARD is scheduled to appear in court today.
