(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service is pleased to present the 2016-2018 Business Plan entitled Innovation and Investment in Community Safety.
This three-year plan was developed through active participation and ongoing input received from residents, community partners and members of the Ottawa Police Service. The plan:
- Responds to community concerns;
- Ensures that Members’ top issues are addressed;
- Will help us achieve our vision of being a trusted partner in community safety; and,
- Will assist us in delivering effective policing services to the citizens of Ottawa.
“The 2016-2018 Business Plan will assist us in continuing to deliver effective policing services to the citizens of Ottawa,” said Chief Charles Bordeleau. “We are grateful for the participation from the community and look forward to continuing this positive dialogue as we move forward.”
Shifts in demographics, types of crime, the fiscal environment, our geographic mix and a wide variety of international pressures all combine to create complex challenges for policing.
“As the Nation’s Capital, Ottawa faces additional challenges and our policing service must be positioned to respond,” added Chief Bordeleau. “This plan shapes and positions our organization to respond to these pressures.”
There are four overarching themes— innovation, partnerships, risk management and continuous improvement— that will help foster a safe community for everyone.
The 2016-2018 Business Plan is now available.
