FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, January 12, 2016      8:50am

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent home invasion and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible.

On January 5, 2016, at approximately 7:55pm, a man in his 60s was alone in his residence in the Upper Dwyer Hill Road and Ritchie Side Road area near Arnprior when two persons came to his door, knocked and when the victim answered the door, the two suspects rushed in, knocking the victim to the ground.

The victim was held down and repeatedly assaulted about the head and face. One suspect took a number of items from inside the house. Amongst these were keepsakes from the victim’s deceased spouse. The victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries but has since been released. The victim continues to undergo assessment and treatment for injuries sustained.

Investigators do not believe this to have been a random event.

The suspects are described as males, dressed all in black, 20-35 years, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” (173cm – 178cm).
