FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Thursday, June 16, 2016 2:15 pm
(Ottawa)— As part of ongoing road safety in our area, local police services will conduct a joint MegaRIDE program on Friday, June 17, 2016.
“Impaired driving is the number one criminal cause of death in Canada,” said Ottawa Police East Division Traffic Sergeant Denis Hull. “With year-end school parties and cottage season beginning, this is a good time to remind drivers that zero is your limit.”
Traffic officers from the Ottawa Police will be joined by Gatineau Police Service, Ontario Provincial Police, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Military Police, Gatineau Police and MRC des Collines who will set up impaired driving checkpoints around the region.
