(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit have charged Ian BURSEY, 42 of Ottawa, with attempt murder as well as multiple gun related offences.
On Sunday evening, at approximately 10pm, Patrol Officers attended the 3100 block of Woodroffe Avenue in relations to a shooting complaint. The officers arrived on scene, and took custody of BURSEY from the complainant who had placed him in civilian arrest custody. The witness/complainant did not suffer any injuries.
BURSEY was seen shooting a firearm, and then was arrested on scene by a witness/complainant till police arrival. Guns and Gangs Unit continue to investigation.
BRUSEY is facing charges of;
- CC 85 (1) (a) USE FIREARM/COMMIT INDICTABLE OFFENCE
- CC 86 (1) USE/HANDLE/STORE FIREARM, ETC. CARELESSLY
- CC 88 (1) POSSESS WEAPON, ETC./DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC PEACE
- CC 90 (1) CARRY CONCEALED WEAPON, ETC.
- CC 91 (1) POSSESS RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED FIREARM WITHOUT HOLDING A LICENCE AND REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
- CC 92 (1) POSSESS RESTRICTED OR PROHIBITED FIREARM KNOWINGLY NOT HOLDING A LICENCE AND REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE
- CC 95 (1) POSSESS LOADED REGULATED FIREARM
- CC 177 LOITER/PROWL AT NIGHT ON OTHER PERSON'S PROPERTY
- CC 239 (1) ATTEMPT MURDER
- CC 244.2 (1) (b) DISCHARGE FIREARM BEING RECKLESS AS TO THE LIFE OR SAFETY OF ANOTHER PERSON
- CC 270 (1) (b) ASSAULT/INTEND TO RESIST OR PREVENT ARREST
He will be attending court Tuesday morning
