(Ottawa) — Starting at 6:00am on Monday, August 15th, at the main entrance of the Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue, West, the Ottawa Police Service and the Ottawa Police Service's Liaison Committee for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Trans communities will be hosting a charity pancake breakfast to help kick off Capital Pride Week.
Ottawa Police Executive Members, along with various leaders in the community will be attending the flapjack-flipping event aimed at raising money for Capital Rainbow Refuge, a not-for-profit organization committed to providing a safe haven to sexual minority refugees fleeing dangerous situations. All donations received from the breakfast will be donated to Capital Rainbow Refuge.
At noon, an official flag raising ceremony will take place at City hall.
In keeping with tradition, the Pride Flag will be on display at the Ottawa Police Headquarters until Monday, August 22, 2016.
