(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent July swarming and is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects responsible.
On July 1, 2016, at approximately 8:50 am, witnesses report having initially observed the male victim and two male suspects in a verbal altercation in the area of the 200 block of Montreal Road., near Marier Avenue. One of the suspects then punched the victim to the face, knocking him to the ground. Once down, the victim was then kicked by both suspects. The suspects were then observed to be going through the victim's pockets and a bag that he carried. The victim spent several weeks in intensive care and still remains in hospital, having suffered serious head injuries. The victim may suffer long-term effects from the injuries.
The suspects are described as follows:
* Black male, approximately 6'2"(188 cm), approximately 25 years of age,
short black hair, muscular build, approximately 220 lbs (100 kg)
* Black male, shorter, in his 40s, "salt & pepper" hair
