(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a bank robbery and is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.
On August 31, 2015, at approximately 2:15 pm, a lone suspect entered a bank situated along the 100 block of Rideau Street. The suspect approached a customer service representative and produced a note making a demand for cash. The suspect suggested he had a weapon but none was seen. The suspect obtained an undisclosed quantity of cash and placed it into a green commercial bank deposit bag that he had brought with him.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, 50-60 years old, heavier build, approximately 200 lbs (91 kg), approximately 5'9"(175 cm). At the time, the suspect was wearing a red and white ball cap, sunglasses, an off white collared shirt, cargo shorts to his knees, white sport socks about 5" (13 cm)up his legs from his ankles, multi-coloured running shoes, and gloves.
