(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent bank robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the second male suspect responsible.
On November 10, 2015, two male suspects entered a bank situated along the 100 block of Bank Street. Both suspects carried handguns and demanded cash. These suspects were aggressive, poking one bank employee with a handgun and also pushing a customer aside.
The suspects fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of cash and were last seen running into a parking garage attached to 210 Gloucester Street.
The suspects unknowingly left the bank with a dye pack, which activated as the suspects fled.
On November 20, 2015, one of the suspects was arrested in relation to this incident.
Patrick DOWDELL, 36 years old of Ottawa, was charged with:
- Robbery (3 counts)
- Wearing a disguise
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- Pointing a firearm
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
- Breach of recognizance (3counts)
- Possession of a weapon
He remains in custody and appears in court next by video on December 7, 2015.
The second suspect remains at large and investigators are seeking the public’s assistance to identify him.
He is described as being a Caucasian male, 20-25 years old, 5’11” (180cm), 150-160lbs (68-73kg), thin build and clean shaven. At the time, he wore jeans and a red hooded sweat shirt with the hood up, a baseball cap and sunglasses (see pictures.)
