Ottawa Police and Ottawa Safety Council launch car seat installation video

 (Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service, in partnership with the Ottawa Safety Council and Safer Roads Ottawa has released a new car seat safety video resource for families. 

“The ‘Best Fit Car Seat’ video focuses on the key components to a safe car seat installation for families with young children,” said Kathleen Cameron from the Ottawa Safety Council.  

The launch of the video coincides with the 40th anniversary of the implementation of seat belt legislation in the province of Ontario. The video can be found on the Ottawa Safety Council’s website at:  https://ottawasafetycouncil.ca/carseatfacts/

Ottawa Safety Council (OSC) is Ottawa’s leading voice in safety education and promotion. Founded as a not-for-profit, non-government organization in 1957, the OSC has a well-established reputation as a leader in school zone safety, motorcycle training, and children’s safety workshops. Through programs like the Adult Crossing Guards, BEST FIT Car Seat Clinics and Workshops, and Bike Rodeos, the OSC provides Ottawa-area residents with the tools they need to make smart choices.

The Safer Roads Ottawa Program is a leading community partnership between Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa Paramedic Service, Ottawa Police Service, Ottawa Public Health and the Public Works Department committed to preventing or eliminating road deaths and serious injuries for all people in the City of Ottawa, through culture change, community engagement, and development of a sustainable safe transportation environment.
