(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating an August bank robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.
On August 22, 2016, at approximately 11:50 am, a lone suspect, disguised, entered a bank situated along the 1400 block of Richmond Road. The suspect approached a customer service representative and produced a note and made a demand for money. A delay in accessing the cash resulted in the suspect fleeing the premises empty-handed. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as being a black male, approximately 5’2” - 5’4” (157cm – 163cm), with a skinny build. At the time he wore sunglasses, and a grey hooded shirt with ‘NIKE” written on the front, a camouflage baseball cap, a black jacket, black gloves, beige boots (images attached.)
