(Ottawa)— The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit, and the Break & Enter Unit, have laid charges against a lone male following several recent investigations.
On May 4, 2017, at approximately 5:45 am, a lone suspect gained entry to a commercial premise situated along the 1-100 block of Waller Street. The suspect fled the premises with a small, but undisclosed, quantity of cash and a tablet.
On May 4, 2017, at approximately 7:55 pm, a lone suspect, disguised, entered a pharmacy situated along the 300 block of Rideau Street. The suspect proceeded behind the pharmacy counter and directed employees not to move. The suspect made a demand for opioids. The suspect also indicated he was armed. The suspect obtained an undisclosed quantity of narcotics and fled the premises. A knife was recovered at the scene. There were no injuries.
On May 5, 2017, at approximately 8:40 pm, a lone suspect entered a pharmacy situated along the 1500 block of Alta Vista Drive. The suspect, disguised, proceeded behind the pharmacy counter and made a demand for narcotics. The suspect indicated he was armed. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of narcotics. There were no injuries.
On May 9, 2017, a male suspect gained entry to a commercial premise situated along the 100 block of Mann Avenue. The suspect removed a cash register and fled the premise. A police canine unit assisted in the tracking of the suspect to the area of Wiggins Private. Officers then stopped a taxi leaving that area and arrested the suspect for the most recent break & enter.
Donald GRAHAM, 29 of Ottawa, is charged with the following series of offences:
- Two (2) counts of breaking & entering
- Five (5) counts of robbery
- Four (4) counts of forcible confinement
- Two counts of wearing a disguise
- Two counts of carrying a concealed weapon
- Obstructing a peace officer
GRAHAM will appear in court today, May 9, 2017.
