(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault.
It is alleged that on May 15, 2017 Mohamed BARKHADLE, 31 years old, attended an apartment in the Ottawa area where, during a sexual assault, he violently assaulted and choked a female, causing serious injuries.
Mr. BARKHADLE is charged with the following offences:
1. Attempted Murder
2. Aggravated Sexual Assault
3. Forcible Confinement
4. Overcoming Resistance by Choking
5. Uttering Threats
6. Breach of Probation
7. Failure to report as required
He is scheduled to appear in court today.
SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.
