(Ottawa) – On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, two men have been charged with multiple firearms offences after a shooting investigation on Hartleigh Avenue and a pursuit during the evening of March 12, 2018.
The weapon used in the shooting is still being sought by police. It is believed that it may have been thrown out of the vehicle along the path of pursuit between the intersection of Isabella and Percy, Bronson and Riverside Drive.
Police continue to search the area. Anyone with information about the weapon or who discovers it should contact police immediately and do not handle the weapon.
Mohamed Ahmed ALI, 24 years old, of Ottawa faces charges of:
- Careless use of a firearm
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a firearm dangerous to public
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
- Resist arrest
- Flight while pursued by police
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Discharge a firearm with intent
Everton AMBROSE, 28 years old of Ottawa faces charges of:
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, etc..
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to public
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Discharge a firearm with intent
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order x5
ALI and AMBROSE are scheduled to appear in court today.

Shooting investigation on Hartleigh Avenue
(Ottawa) – On Monday March 12, 2018 at approx 8:45pm the victim in this matter was exiting a residence on Hartleigh Avenue and was involved in a shooting incident where there were no injuries.
The Ottawa Police located the suspect vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop resulting in two males being placed under arrest for multiple offences. Detectives are investigating this matter and both males will be making a court appearance in the morning.
