Ottawa High School teacher charged with additional sexual offences

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Thursday, May 31, 2018   12:15 pm 

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit has laid additional charges against an Ottawa man following investigation into further reports of sexual assault which occurred between 2004 and 2010.

At the time, the man was teaching at St. Patrick’s High School of the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Ottawa. He is currently suspended from teaching duties.    

Today, Robert LAVERGNE, 55 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with 3 additional counts of Sexual Assault, relating to two adult victims. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 27th, 2018, on these new charges.

SACA investigators are concerned there could be other victims.

Ottawa High School teacher charged with Sexual offences

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into sexual offenses that occurred at a local school between 2014 and 2016.

At the time, the man was teaching at St. Patrick’s High School of the Ottawa Catholic School Board in Ottawa.     

Today, Robert LAVERGNE, 55 years old, of Ottawa has been charged with Sexual assault and Sexual exploitation of a female under the age of 18. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 25, 2018.

SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.
