(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Major Crime Section continues to investigate a stabbing and a fire at a St. Joseph Blvd. address.
Emergency crews were called to the 3200 block of St. Joseph Blvd. at about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday after reports of a fire and a stabbing of a woman.
A woman was assisted out of the residence by Ottawa Firefighters and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Firefighters also located and rescued a man from inside the residence.
The man, who was unconscious, suffered serious smoke inhalation injuries and has been transferred to a Toronto-area hospital.
A firefighter was also injured in the attempt to get the fire under control.
The investigation continues.
