FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, May 26, 2020   1:45pm

(Ottawa)–The Ottawa Police Service received a complaint on April 20th about a man operating a security company while he did not have a security license to operate such a business.

Officers learned that from December 2019 to April 2020, a man wearing a security guard uniform with Undodo Security written on the sleeves, performed unexpected security-related services for businesses with whom no such contract was arranged.

The man was also observed operating a black vehicle with the words Undodo Security written on it as well as emergency lights in the interior of the vehicle.

On Sunday, May 24th, the Ottawa Police East Criminal Investigations charged Morley Andrew THOMPSON with:

·         Fraud Over $5000
·         Fraud Under $5000
·         Public Mischief
·         Failure to comply with an order
·         and two charges under the Private Security and Investigative Services Act

He is scheduled to appear in court today.

It is believed that there could be more victims - persons or companies - that have had interactions with THOMPSON while he was performing unlicensed security related duties.

Anyone with information regarding THOMPSON and his security services is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service East Criminal Investigations Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 3566.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
