(Ottawa) – In August 2020, the Ottawa Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) was advised by Peel Regional Police that an Ottawa resident was believed to be sending explicit digital material and luring a 14 year old youth. An investigation was commenced.
Today, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Orleans and digital devices belonging to the male suspect were seized. As a result of the ICE investigation, Jason LABERGE, 40 years old of Ottawa was charged with:
- Three counts of luring a child; and
- One count of making sexual explicit material available to a child.
He is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
