(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged an Ottawa man following an investigation into two separate incidents of Sexual Assault which occurred on OC Transpo buses.
On June 4th 2016, police were called to the Place D’Orleans transit station for a report of a woman being inappropriately touched while on the #104 bus at approximately 10:00pm. She alerted the bus driver and OC Transpo Security was called. The suspect fled before security or police arrived. An investigation was commenced by the Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit.
On June 15th, 2016, a second woman reported to police that she was inappropriately touched after getting off the #92 bus on Trim Road at approximately 12:15am. The suspect had initially gotten on a bus with her at the St. Laurent Transit Station. Police were called and arrested the suspect at the scene. It was determined to be the same suspect for both incidents. The suspect removed both victims’ shoes during these incidents.
Alfred BISHOP, 31 years old, of Ottawa is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault and one count of Theft under $5000. He will appear in court later today.
SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims, and are asking anyone who witnessed these incidents or similar ones to contact police.
