Charges laid following stabbing incident in the ByWard market area

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Service Central District Investigations has charged two males in relation to the stabbing incident on Willliams Street on Sunday morning.

Mohamed MOHAMED, 26 years old, of Ottawa and Ali ABBARI, 21 years old, of Ottawa have both been charged with Aggravated Assault X4, Assault with a weapon X4 and Fail to comply X3. 

A third suspect, a female, was released without charges. 

They are scheduled to appear in court today.

Stabbing investigations in the ByWard market area, seeking witnesses

(Ottawa) –The Ottawa Police Service responded to two separate stabbing incidents which occurred in the ByWard market overnight. Investigators are looking for the public’s assistance. 

The first incident occurred on Saturday evening at 10pm at Waller Street and Rideau Street.  One male victim was stabbed and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was treated and released from hospital. An unidentified suspect, described as a white male in his mid 20’s fled the scene. 

The second incident occurred on Sunday morning at 1:42am on William Street between York Street and George Street. Five male victims were injured, four of them stabbed. All victims have since been treated. Their injuries are non-life threatening. All three suspects are now in custody.  The suspects are not known to the victims. 

Central District Investigators are looking for assistance from the public from those that witnessed either incident or have additional information.

Multiple Stabbings in the ByWard Market 

(Ottawa)–The Ottawa Police Service responded to multiple stabbings in the ByWard market overnight.   There were a total of six victims in two separate incidents.  All victims received medical attention. One is still in critical but stable condition. 

Three suspects are in custody and the investigations are ongoing. 

Central District Investigation is seeking any assistance from the public from those that witnessed the incident or have additional information concerning the stabbings.
