(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent taxi robbery and is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects responsible.

On August 1, 2016, at approximately 4:00 am, the two suspects were picked up by the victim at the plaza situated near Merivale/Baseline Roads. The suspects were driven to Rosenthal Avenue/Merivale Road.  At that location, one of the suspects pretended to make payment as the second suspect exited the taxi. That suspect approached the driver from outside, and produced a knife. The driver was robbed of cash and his cellular phone. The phone was last known to be in the area of 1470 Morisset Avenue before being deactivated, a short time after the robbery. There were no injuries.

The suspects are both described as being black males (images attached.)
